Jerry L. Steering has over 25 years of experience in “tort” and commercial litigation; both in federal and state courts.

A “tort” is an unlawful act that does not arise out of some sort of implied or express contract, for which one may recover money damages. Some common examples of torts are “negligence”, “race discrimination”, “hate crime statutes”, “battery”, “assault”, “fraud”, “slander”, “libel”, “false arrest”, “malicious prosecution”, “intentional” infliction of emotional distress”, “conversion”, and “interference with prospective economic advantage”. A "constitutional tort" is a "tort" that is based upon a violation of a constitutional right.

Mr. Steering’s experience in tort litigation includes constitutional tort cases, personal injury cases, fraud cases, libel/slander cases, malicious prosecution cases, business/contract interference cases, negligence cases, and malpractice cases; legal and medical.
